My research activity focuses on the physics of strongly-correlated quantum systems in optical lattices, with particular attention to the collective excitations controlling quantum correlations in such platforms. This investigation is performed through a recently developed technique  based on a quantization of the Lagrangian functional of the Gutzwiller approximation.
As well as understanding the features of quantum fluctuations in Bose and Fermi-Hubbard models, my scientific interests comprise also the dynamical properties of open quantum systems controlled by strong correlations: in particular, I am currently working on pure dephasing processes in strongly-interacting environments and the characterization of driven-dissipative photonic fluids as promising setups for quantum simulation.
